Outta here..

I'm going out west to work for two weeks. Nothing to really show before I leave though...this photo of some laundry drying in Jersey is all that's left on my desktop.

I'm taking my new 6x9 camera on the trip and if I have any time I'll try and shoot some sweet landscapes.

Sunday

Some snaps from yesterday.

I wandered around the west side of Manhattan for a couple hours before sundown...

but before that I hung out with Esao for a bit and we continued our documentation of Soybean being awesome.

The far west side looks a lot like Williamsburg..Tons of deep pits and half built husks of buildings that nobody's moving into. Check out this gnarly lake over by the Lincoln Tunnel..

That's all for now

Stormy

Me and Nick went back to see Ma after a big storm last week. Here are some snaps from along the way..

Some downed lines. I like this photo better as a negative.

A big old tree that didn't make it

Saturated

I got really busy with assisting jobs all of a sudden and won't really be around for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Museum

I had two hours to kill before seeing my brother for dinner the other night. Spent a quick hour walking through the Natural History Museum. Something was being filmed there and they closed early.. Some quick snaps..

I remember being blown away by the fake sets when I was little.

Owls are scary

Shitty photo of my favorite animal

Also got this today. I've had my eye on one of these for years. I've been getting a little tired of the 6x7 format and want to stick with the 35mm format for a while. I don't want to use my digital for personal projects/landscapes and I wanted something sharper than 35mm.. this seemed like the only choice. Hope it works.

These trial photos from LA (here on J. Wesley Brown's blog) were shot on 6x7 with a 3x2 crop in mind and cropped later in photoshop.

Melting

Super stoked on daylight savings this Sunday... Finally thawing out and things are on the up and up!

Check out the state of this pool.

Some poor slob is gonna have to clean this pretty soon

and put the lanes back in.

Dusted

More photos from this weekend. Another semi-failed mission to recapture our youth.

Alan dusting his way to a tetanus shot..

Scary, small runway, small landing, gap ollie that was not to be..

Trip Home

Some snapshots from a trip home last week to see my folks.

Pops in the basement.

Icy remnants in the driveway. I've only seen that green thing happen in those sweet iceberg photos but never around here...

Dinner table antics.

Bleak view out the train window.

Creepy window spotted while waiting for my train back to the city.

Steamy door in Hoboken train station.

Meh..

Lofty

Alan was feeling especially light in the loins/loafers today..

We were supposed to shoot a monster bump ollie but it still has a snow covering. Had to settle for the obligatory cone photo instead...another one added to the collection.

A hefty detail

Oh yeah...that board he's riding has a huge crack in the tail.

What I talk about when I talk about Jersey.

Today was finally a little warmer..more photos later.
