Muggy days

It was muggy as shit yesterday. Took these out of the car window on the way to Rockaway.

Al got sequences of me jumping off swings. Here's an outtake.

Afterwards, we went back to Greenpoint and ate some dinner. The taxi stand next door casts out some kick ass light.

Luis' second to last SX-70 ever

Luis found his SX-70 Polaroid camera today and took this photo of me. The colors straight out of the camera are so good!

The other day he said I was beginning to look like "a saddough muppet."

Street scenes

Gas station on the way to Abu Dhabi

Two shots of Downtown Dubai from a residential neighborhood.

In the above photo you can see the faint outline of the tallest building in the world all the way on the right.

Bizzaroland..

Falcon and Headlights

Some more snaps from the desert

Early morning construction

On the first day we had a 4am call time. Shot from the car on our way to the desert.

Cranes

All these locations were within 5 minutes of each other. Outskirts of Dubai City.

Night swim

Went for a swim after shooting by the pool. Moments earlier there was a call to prayer from that Mosque across the river. Amazing.

The weather in Dubai is incredibly humid making the air super misty. Construction crews work 24/7 and light up the night.

Dubai light tests

Some light tests from Dubai

This was around midnight on the beach in front of our hotel. We wrangled up some floodlights from the gardening crew and lit the sand and water behind. Took us a long time to get it right cause most of the extension cords weren't working and we were all pretty tired.

For the desert shoot a man came with three falcons. When their hoods were removed the birds would take big dumps.. which a few of us found amusing.

Dubai 1

Just started working on all the Dubai pics today. The desert on top was 45 minutes outside the city. Endless sand dunes and camels (there's a small one in the middle of frame). Everyone wore flip flops and had their feet burnt to shit in the trillion degree sand.

California salt mine II

Some more photo's from California in April

Luis checking locations

The water is home to some crazy algae.

We had to wade in on the second day. Your feet would get salty and pants would dry into a rocky shell.

The light at the end of the day was retarded.

Gone for a while

Going to Berlin and Dubai for a couple of weeks so these posts are going to be spotty at best.

This building in Dubai City is the tallest thing man has ever made. They're up to floor 163 and almost finished.
