Crappy weather

Just got back from LA...I was supposed to stay longer but its gonna rain every day so fuck that.

Here's a picture of my shadow, some birds, a girl jumping, and Jason's shadow as he's taking her picture.


Didn't shoot so much but still got a few good photos that I'll put up next week in a couple of "LA" posts.

Parts and Labor

I'm leaving for LA tomorrow morning to work a few jobs for Jason. There won't be any posts for at least 10 days.  I've canceled my flight home and am not bringing a computer.  Need a warm weather/visual recharge.

2009 is starting off a little slow on this site. That pace of 2008 is hard to match during these shitty New York winter months. Hopefully I'll slay it out west and post up some good stuff when I get back.

Found this pretty awesome photo while sorting through some old shit. I got sucker punched by a bouncer the night before this was taken.

Not stoked on any of these. I'm gonna try and take a good picture this week cause its been a while now.

Winter skating

Tried to take some photos of Al shredding under the BQE yesterday. It was 25 degrees and we didn't get too much done...he gassed out and my fingertips almost fell off.

Soon after I took this stretching photo he ate shit pretty hard and we called it a day.

Slow going

Two random vertical photos from last month

Updates have been slow and I haven't taken a picture since Christmas. Besides working quite a bit, I've been trying to get all my favorite photos from 2008 printed. Finished half of 'em in the last four days. Doing two runs on 13x19 paper and there's about 80 prints in each run.

Backflip

Luis cast these two guys to be in the background of one of his photos. I took a bunch of pictures of them warming up. This is the best one..

Windy Ipanema

The wind was around 50 mph when I took this. A few of the Brazilians said it had never been that windy in Rio.

This photo is the best from a series of 20.. all shot within about a half hour. The light and sky were changing so fast that each one looks completely different.

Spooky makeup

Took this in an RV last month in Cali.

Luis made Keiko paint her whole body with translucent white makeup.

Original version was in color and sucked ass. Couldn't get the yellow out. Works much better B&W.

New stuff

The Macbook was found fully loaded on ebay for $1100 and the new Eizo monitor in the middle is for printing. Prints that used to take me 2-3 hours to get right now take 10 minutes.

You can see how much the two monitors differ when looking at the internet.

Christmas Eve

Target

Alan with his gun range target in my hallway last night.

Took this second photo in my room with softer light. Get a good look at how ridiculous and amazing this thing is.

Boxing gym

We went to this gym in Rio on a location scout. We showed up right before a tournament and I had ten minutes to shoot some quick photos.

The whole place started out super sketchy... outside there were people watching us from houses with guns.. and inside the fighters and crowd were amping up.

The view out the window was sick.

Everyone ended up being real cool. They were stoked on seeing a camera. I had just settled in to my window lit ringside spot (right behind the big guy in the second photo) when all of a sudden we had to leave. For the next week, whenever my mind would wander, I would think about the missed fights and missed photos and get super bummed. Shit!...woulda been so rad..window lit fight photos... goddammit!

Gull

Taken a few summers back during a road trip to the Outer Banks with my friends Steve and Esao.


It was a pretty fun 2 hour boat trip and a good break from all the driving.

This berry tree and benches were nice to look at.

Me, Alan, and Luis ran around on Dirtbag Mountain for a while. The light was really shitty and harsh so I made this into a black and white...

Which didn't help.. the photo still sucks.

This sketchy detail is pretty rad though.

Alan welded up another tall bike and fit it with six gears which is super fun to ride and scary in the corners.
